Audio converter
Convert MP3, OGG, M4A, FLAC — or grab the sound from an MP4/WEBM video — as an MP3 or WAV file.
Audio formats & quality
MP3 or WAV?
MP3 uses lossy compression for smaller files. WAV stores uncompressed 16-bit audio samples and is often much larger. Converting MP3 to WAV does not recover audio detail lost in the original compression.
Choosing a bitrate
The MP3 options range from 128 to 320 kbps. A higher bitrate typically uses more space and can preserve more detail during encoding, but the source recording still determines the quality ceiling.
Video & browser support
Video input extracts the audio track only; it does not convert the video itself. MP4 and other containers can hold different codecs, so a file extension alone does not guarantee support. If decoding fails, try a browser that supports the source codec.
